Accent: the brand colour — buttons, links and highlights use your pick as-is.
Background: the hue washed over the page's backgrounds. Only its hue (and a little saturation) is used — the lightness stays on the Light/Dark archetype so text keeps its contrast (WCAG) — so backgrounds take on your colour's tone, not the exact swatch (e.g. a cream tint on Dark gives a cream-toned dark).
